Business Law

This course focuses on how the legal environment of business impacts business decisions with broad ethical, international, and critical thinking examples throughout. Knowledge of the legal aspects of running a business will enable the student to conduct business within the legal framework and understand the ethical dimension of business decisions. I really enjoy this class as it teaches me on how to balance between law and ethics in making business decisions. It taught me how to be a better decision maker in solving a business problem which will include the triple bottom line (profitability, social responsibility and sustainability) instead of focusing on just profit as primary goal.

Listed below are the chapters that we have went through in the class:
-
Chapter 1: Law, Ethics, and Business: An Introduction
-
Chapter 2: Whistleblowing: Conflict of Loyalties
-
Chapter 3: Privacy and Technology

Chapter 4: Valuing Diversity: Stereotyping versus Inclusion
-
Chapter 5: Workers’ Rights as Human Rights: Health and Safety in the Global Workplace
