When I first enrolled into the Design Management program, I really have no idea what design management is except that it is the design side of a MBA program or vice-versa; or it is design (making things pretty) and management (managing people). But after a few weeks into class, what Design Management is and that Design Management ≠ Design + Management. 

I'm glad that our first guest speaker in my first semester was Brian Miller. He talked about how Design Management is being defined differently, and each person has their own definition of it. He was the one that talked about Design Management ≠ Design + Management. Design management for me, is to use our management skill and design thinking, in providing solutions to any problems (business or social) that the end result benefits the triple bottom line (profitability, social responsibility and sustainability).
